Pinball Clemons Bursary Program

Mentorship Sessions

Jonathan Hood of the Ahead of the Game Program has made an immense impact on at-risk youth. Jonathan work directly with our programs to customize and adapt a program, allowing young people to receive the guidance and support necessary to dream big and reach their true potential.

Jonathan Hood is a professional athlete, motivational speaker, personal coach and youth mentor. He grew up in Mississauga, ON. In 2008, he was drafted 26th overall in the CFL to the Edmonton Eskimos. He spent half a season with the Eskimos before returning to school to complete a Master’s Degree in Kinesiology with a specialization in Sports Psychology at the University of Western Ontario.

The mentorship activities and self-reflection outcomes have been instrumental to their ongoing personal growth. The mentorship sessions set us apart from other Bursary programs. The sessions are include activities and exercises facilitated by Jonathan as well as financial literacy discussions hosted by Hope 4 All’s Paul Bailey. They've helped youth be prepared to make good choices within their educational journey.

During the 2018/2019 academic year, 15-25 youth have met at CW Jeffries Secondary school. We've held 3 Saturday sessions per semester. The participants include youth from the various programs we support; Youth Without Shelter, Pinball Clemons Ambassador School and Y.A.A.A.C.E.
