"Let's Get Ready to Rumble" - 2018 Victory Charity Ball

On Thursday, June 7th, 2018 we had the pleasure of hosting the 4th Annual Victory Charity Ball (VCB) in support of the Pinball Clemons Foundation Ambassador School Program.

The Ambassador Program is an alternative school program designed to assist youth, who have dropped out of high school, to reengage with learning. The aim is to help them complete their Ontario Secondary School Diploma, gain valuable life skills, and successfully move into a post-secondary school environment. Students also engage in community support activities, volunteering, and a program called the “SpeakOut” where they travel to grade 7 and 8 classrooms across the city of Toronto and deliver a “stay in school” presentation based on their own life story and life choices.

We were lucky enough to hear from Rachel, student from the Ambassador school, tell her story. The audience was moved to tears by her powerful and heart-rending journey from the streets to the school. It is stories like Rachel’s that demonstrate the impact the Ambassador School can have in changing the lives of at-risk youth in our community.

The event took place at CBC Studio 40, which was once again transformed from the set of Dragon’s Den to a stunning boxing venue that transported guests to the floor of the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Unlike most Las Vegas boxing matches, most of our boxers had little to no boxing experience. Our Fighters traded their laptops and suits for a set of boxing gloves, in support of the Pinball Clemons Ambassador School Program.

George Chuvalo was in attendance along with celebrity hosts CTV etalk’s Laura Ward as well as TSN’s Rod Black and Cabral “Cabbie” Richards.

Guests were also treated to internationally acclaimed rapper k-os, who brought style, sexiness, and swag into the ring. He brought the crowd to their feet with a few of his hit singles such as Crabbuckit and Sunday Morning.

2018 Victory Charity Ball was a huge success that raised over $600,000 for underserved youth. Thank you to all who attended, hosted, volunteered, fought, donated and sponsored, together we made a difference!
