Mentorship Session Diary. Entry 14.
What do you do for play? When we have important commitments and aspirations for our professional life, it can be easy to narrow our focus and lose perspective on the bigger picture. Incorporating play and leisure into our lifestyle is so important for creating balance. Work and school deserve proper focus and attention, but we also should remember to take time to unwind and relax. When we put too much pressure on ourselves, we increase the stress and anxiety that comes along with trying to perform at our best.
Allowing ourselves to have fun and incorporate play brings us closer to those around us and helps us build strong connections with the people we care about. As we get older, we can lose the tendency to let loose and enjoy ourselves when our responsibilities become more serious. Making sure we have fun and make time for play on a consistent basis will help us to be our best self.
