Please share what the Bursary program has meant for you so far in your post-secondary journey (mentorship, financial aid, career assistance)
Most definitely the Bursary program has provided me with a lot of support in ways that I cannot even find the words of gratitude for. By providing me with financial aid, moral support, words of wisdom and encouragement, and so much more. These many things have made me feel a lot more accepted and supported knowing that I have a lot of individuals that believe in me and are there as additional people in my life who want what is best for me in every aspect of life as I continue to grow.

Being matched to the Black Legend Violet King is an absolute honour, as her will and determination made her the person we all know today. King was the first Black female lawyer in Canada, despite all the many challenges she faced in getting to the position then she deserved. With role models like King, I am able to see myself in a position of upliftment, as it was impactful people like King, who would have paved the way for young girls like myself with the same dreams and aspirations. She is the true definition of "nothing will stand in my way" and I hope to have this drive and determination in being able to push past obstacles that come my way, and become the lawyer that I aspire to be.
2023 Academic/Personal Highlight
My academic highlight for 2023 was my accomplishment in passing my Psychology class even though I did not feel as if I would be able to. I managed to bring my mark from a C- to a B and I was really proud of myself for this, as it showed me that I am capable of things even if I tried to doubt myself, it is better to try and be a lot more successful than before, than to give up because I choose not to challenge myself for the better.
