The Foundation had an incredible experience attending Corporate Connect at KPMG’s Toronto office, an exclusive opportunity created for our students and alumni to engage directly with industry professionals.

The afternoon began with a keynote address from Brandy Ryan, Director of Inclusion, Diversity & Equity, followed by a Campus Recruitment overview presented by Sav Campbell-Sharma and Andrea Govedarica. Attendees also gained valuable insights during a Black Professionals Network panel featuring Mason Kitamisi, Jhanele Wright, and Ian Mmbando, who offered an honest perspective on the firm’s commitment to diversity and inclusion, while also highlighting how KPMG is intentionally leveraging AI and innovation to evolve and create meaningful impact in the industry. The event concluded with guided office tours and closing remarks.

While the agenda offered valuable insights into career pathways and professional development, the true impact of Corporate Connect is best reflected in the voices of our students and alumni. Here’s what two of our attendees had to share about their experience:

"Attending the KPMG event was an incredibly inspiring experience that deepened my understanding of authentic leadership and intentional growth. Hearing professionals share their journeys, speak candidly about the firm’s commitment to diversity and inclusion, and discuss how they are thoughtfully embracing AI and innovation to adapt and drive meaningful impact showed me what it looks like to lead with both purpose and progress. I left feeling more confident, more intentional, and genuinely grateful to learn from leaders who are not only advancing their organizations, but actively creating space and opportunity for the next generation." - Danay YehDego, PinballMiCRO Recipient.

"Really appreciated the chance to attend the KPMG Canada office tour and information session. It was great learning more about the firm’s culture and how AI is being integrated across different roles.

The panel shared how AI is helping people complete tasks more efficiently, while still emphasizing that it’s a tool that requires human oversight and judgement. It was especially interesting hearing how AI is broadening the scope of work and creating new opportunities as technology continues to evolve.

"Thank you KPMG and the Pinball Foundation for this incredible opportunity!" - Nyomi Williams, PinballNEXT Ambassador
