Meet Adam Elmi, a graduate of Seneca College's Business Technology Management program and a member of our PinballBURSARY Class of 2026

By combining business strategy with technology expertise, Adam has developed the skills needed to thrive in today's rapidly evolving digital landscape. His dedication and hard work have prepared him to make meaningful contributions at the intersection of business and innovation.

Receiving this Bursary has had a major impact on both my life and education. One of the biggest ways it has helped me is by relieving the stress of worrying about tuition and other school-related expenses. Instead of constantly thinking about finances, I’ve been able to focus more on my academics, personal growth, and community involvement.

The scholarship has motivated me to continue working hard in school and pursuing my goals with confidence. As a student involved in youth leadership, sports programming, and community initiatives, having this support has allowed me to balance my education while continuing to give back to my community. Beyond the financial relief, receiving this Bursary has made me feel recognized and encouraged. It reminds me that my hard work, dedication, and commitment to helping others are valued, and it inspires me to keep striving for success both academically and personally.

One of the most memorable parts of this program has been the opportunities for mentorship, networking, and personal growth. Through the program, I was able to connect with professionals who provided valuable guidance and encouraged me to continue building confidence in my career journey. A major highlight for me was receiving an internship offer, which felt like an important milestone and showed me that the hard work I’ve put into my education and community involvement is paying off. I also really enjoyed attending the Fireside Chats, where I had the chance to hear inspiring stories, gain career advice, and learn directly from experienced professionals and leaders. Another meaningful experience was participating in the You(th) Lead Conference, where I was able to grow as a leader, collaborate with others, and strengthen my communication and teamwork skills. Overall, this program has opened doors for me, expanded my network, and helped me grow both professionally and personally.

The PinballBURSARY program has supported my career aspirations by giving me access to mentorship, networking opportunities, and real-world experiences that have helped me grow professionally and personally. Through the program, I’ve been able to build confidence in my leadership, communication, and teamwork skills while connecting with professionals who provided valuable advice and guidance. The program also helped me take important steps toward my future goals through opportunities like internships, career development sessions, and events such as the Fireside Chats. These experiences gave me insight into different career paths and motivated me to continue pursuing opportunities in business, community leadership, and youth development. As someone passionate about making a positive impact in my community, this program has reinforced my goal of combining my education and professional career with meaningful community work and leadership.

The most valuable piece of advice I received during the Saturday Session was to never view failures as losses, but instead as lessons and opportunities to grow. That mindset really stayed with me because it changed the way I approach challenges and setbacks. Instead of getting discouraged, I’ve learned to reflect on what I can improve, stay motivated, and keep pushing forward. It reminded me that growth comes from learning through experiences, and that every setback can help build future success.
